My favorite brand of denim shorts has been AGOLDE and after all these years is still the case. While they are on the pricier side, I have always loved the fit and style of all the AGOLDE denim shorts I’ve owned. There are so many different styles to choose from so I thought I would share a post dedicated to all the styles I own as well as a description of each. A good pair of denim shorts is a must have for summer. Even if you only purchase one pair, make sure you love the fit and style because you can rewear them year after year with a variety of looks. AGOLDE has a ton of really trendy styles but also great classic pairs that are timeless and will look chic for years to come. I have a mix of styles in this post though the majority of them are more classic and easy to style many different ways. AGOLDE Denim Shorts Guide
AGOLDE Dame Shorts in Control (also available here, runs big – size down)
As soon as I saw these shorts online, I knew instantly that I wanted to get them. The high waisted fit, the longer length and the cuff at the bottom were all details I loved. These shorts strike the perfect balance between slightly trendy and timeless. The cuff makes them on trend for the season but still isn’t enough of a unique detail to make it obsolete in the future. The dark wash is gorgeous (though there are other washes available) and the high waisted fit is slim throughout the hips while the leg opening is roomy and comfortable. I absolutely LOVE these shorts and find myself reaching for them all the time. I’m wearing a size 24.
AGOLDE Parker Long Short in Twister (also available here, runs TTS though quite roomy)
This is one of the most popular shorts style that AGOLDE makes and they come in a ton of different washes. The fit is quite roomy and relaxed with more of a mid-rise fit rather than fully high rise. These are very comfortable but a bit more casual in my opinion. A nice length that isn’t too short but not too long either. I’m wearing a size 25.
AGOLDE Parker Vintage Cut Off Short in Swapmeet – (also available here, runs TTS)
This was my first pair of AGOLDE shorts that I purchased though now when I wear them, they feel SO short. LOL The fit is loose and casual, but the length is shorter than I normally wear now. These are better for a swimsuit coverup or worn with a casual top and sneakers. The back is a bit longer than the front which I prefer and the rise is more of a mid rise than a true high rise. I am wearing a size 25.
AGOLDE Dee Short in Riccochet – (similar wash available here, runs small – I would size up)
I ADORE the Dee style of AGOLDE shorts and find them to be so flattering. Super high waisted, slim and a perfect length. However, I should mention that I don’t see this style available as much anymore so I worry they could be phasing it out which would be such a bummer. This particular wash however runs VERY small and is quite tight around the waist so I would recommend sizing up. I am wearing a size 25 (but wish I had gotten a 26).
AGOLDE Dee Short in Divise – (runs TTS and fits slim)
While this is the exact same style as the one above, the black pair runs much truer to size. I absolutely adore the fit and wash of these denim shorts but they are becoming a bit harder to find. The closest thing to them is the new Stella style which I am reviewing next. These are a bit shorter and slimmer than the Stella style. I am wearing a size 25.
AGOLDE Criss Cross Short in Symbol – (also available here with no distressing, runs big)
Not everyone loves the crisscross waistband trend but I personally really love it! I think it is so flattering though it is best worn with a tighter fitting top that can show the detail better. These did run quite big so I sized down, but they don’t stretch out too much so if I purchased another pair I would go with my regular size. I am wearing a size 24.
AGOLDE Stella Short in Bat – (runs big)
This pair is the loosest out of all the styles I have. It’s a very relaxed and roomy style. I purchased my regular size but probably could also size down for a more fitted look. I actually like the comfy oversized fit throughout the legs while the waist is still a high waisted slim fit. The length is closer to that of a bermuda style short which I am personally loving at the moment. I am wearing a size 25.
Are AGOLDE shorts worth it?
For me, I have found AGOLDE denim shorts to be 100% worth the investment. Mainly because I reach for them more than any other denim shorts brand I own. From the style options, to the fits and washes, they are hands down my favorite brand of denim shorts to wear. I like that they offer trendier styles for those who want something a bit more unique, but there are also classic styles that are timeless to wear season after season.
Do AGOLDE shorts run big?
Honestly, this depends on the style and wash. Some styles run exceptionally large and roomy, while others fit TTS. I haven’t tried many AGOLDE styles that run small so it’s best to get your current size and perhaps one size down if you are wanting to try a pair.
Do AGOLDE shorts shrink?
I have only washed my AGOLDE denim shorts a handful of times and I always do so on cold and then lay flat to dry. Because of this I have never had an issue with shrinking thankfully.
It’s always easy to get dressed in summer because there are less layers to worry about and you can throw on something simple and go. However there is the heat and humidity to contend with so that always threatens to derail my cute summer outfits and make me want to opt for something super casual or a look that I don’t put a ton of thought into.
