I decided to give my skinny jeans and leggings a rest in favor of switching it up to a pair of wide leg trousers. I have definitely dabbled in this trend before (remember this post and this post) and really love the look. They are not a look that appeals to everyone, but I specifically love how most wide leg pants have a cinched waist so they really help to create a flattering silhouette. And while it was too cold to take off my jacket for these photos, I wore it with a fitted turtleneck and tucked it in to emphasize the waistline even more. Adding a pointy toe pump helps to elongate my legs but if you are blessed with long legs naturally then you could probably wear a flat or low heel with these. But I would still opt for a pointy toe because it will help to balance out the volume on the pants with a thinner more narrow shoe.
And I felt like I couldn’t end this post without calling out these turtlenecks that I wear in a majority of my outfits in the fall and winter. In fact, I have been wearing them for years (way before blogging!) and featured this same style on my blog more times than I can count. If I have worn a turtleneck in any past posts, more than likely it was this style from Club Monaco (remember this post from a few years ago, this recent leopard one I wore, this one from last year, and this post from last week). I like how thin they are so I can wear them alone or layered. And every single year they go on sale around this time (like right now!) so I pick up a few colors and always a new black turtleneck because I wear it the most.
