Eye masks and under eye gels are something that I use almost daily in my skincare routine. Especially as I have gotten older, the area under my eyes is so much more dry and needs additional hydration and moisture. And depending on how I have slept the night before, I also use eye masks to help reduce any swelling or puffiness under the eye. The skin under and around the eye is some of the thinnest and most delicate skin on the entire face (and body) and is prone to fine lines, dark circles, and showing signs of aging first. It’s important to treat that area with specific products formulated for its unique needs. The only downside to using eye masks is they are disposable so you end up having to constantly repurchase them which can be a bit wasteful. Dieux skincare was one of the first skincare brands to address this and introduced their Forever Eye Masks. These eye masks are designed to be used with any eye serum or cream and can be reused over and over. You can turn your everyday eye creams into a more targeted treatment with these reusable masks. I’ll share a bit more about how to use them and whether I think they are worth trying based on my experience using them the past few months.
What is the Dieux Forever Eye Mask?
If you find yourself repurchasing eye masks and under eye gels constantly and want to find an alternative option that still gives great results, the Dieux Forever Eye Masks are a great choice. The Forever Eye Masks were the first product launched by Dieux Skincare and focused on the idea of sustainability and getting more out of your current eye creams and serums. These masks are made with medical grade silicone and are designed to be reused over and over. Apply them over your favorite eye cream or serum for a more targeted treatment and better absorption. Using the Forever Eye Masks allow the products to fully sink in and leave the eye area looking hydrated and better prepped for the day.
How Does the Dieux Forever Eye Mask Work?
Made with Medical Grade Silicone
These eye masks are designed to be reused over and over lasting up to or longer than a year. The material is extremely durable yet easily adheres to the skin.
Allows For Maximum Absorption
Due to the silicone material, these eye masks will help your eye cream or serum absorb more effectively and fully sink in thus getting the most out of your products.
Offers a More Sustainable Option
With most eye masks or under eye gels, they are a one use product that you have to keep repurchasing. The Dieux Forever Eye Mask allows you to stop using these eye gels and turn your current eye creams or serums into a targeted under eye treatment.
Are the Dieux Reusable Eye Masks Worth It?
I definitely think they are worth using if you find yourself repurchasing under eye gels or masks regularly and want something more sustainable and cost effective. But even if you don’t regularly use under eye masks, these Dieux reusable masks will help your current eye creams and serums absorb more effectively. The Dieux Forever Eye Masks are $25 and meant to last more than a year or longer if maintained properly.
Dieux Eye Mask Before and After
These eye masks feel so great on the skin especially when layered over a hydrating eye gel or hydrating eye serum. I like using them with the Dieux Auracle Eye Serum which is the lovely gel cream that gives your under eye a burst of moisture. While using my regular eye creams/serums help to hydrate the under eye area is great, adding the Forever Eye Masks really help to allow the product to fully absorb. My under eye area feels so plump, nourished and firm.
How To Use the Dieux Forever Eye Mask
Wash and store after each use
Each time you use your Forever Eye Masks, rinse them off with mild soap and warm water, dry them completely and store them in the container they come in.
Apply any eye cream or serum underneath
These are meant to help your current eye cream or serum absorb better but if you want a more intensive treatment, layer a thicker layer of your favorite eye cream/serum and put the eye patches for 20 minutes.
Use them with the smaller end towards the inner eye
They fit best when you put them on with the smaller/thinner part towards to the inner eye and the larger part towards the outer eye.
Wear them while applying eye makeup
If you are doing a dramatic eye for evening, these eye masks are perfect to wear while you are doing the eye makeup to protect the area from any eyeshadow fallout. Once your eye makeup is done, remove them and continue the rest of your makeup.
Don’t use with retinol or exfoliating eye creams
The forever eye masks are best used with hydrating eye creams/serums instead of any that contain active ingredients such as retinol or various acids.
Leave on for 20 minutes
The recommended time to leave the eye masks on for is 20 minutes. I also like to use them when I am doing a face mask (this Clarins V-Facial Instant Depuffing Face Mask is one of my holy grails) so I’m using my 20 minutes to treat both my eyes and face.
