One of my favorite color combinations is black and navy. It is a rather controversial pairing (as controversial as clothing colors can be), but I have been wearing it for years. In this case, I was able to break it up with a colorful sweater, but I was initially debating an all black ensemble with a navy scarf. Maybe it’s because I have been in New York for so long and dark clothing is somewhat of a uniform here so you need to get creative with how you put it all together. We shot this look this weekend while running some errands on one of the coldest days of the year, so underneath my sweater and jeans was 1-2 additional layers. Tights under my jeans, and two tank tops under my sweater. I was sick of wearing my puffer coat (layers are not needed with that), so ensuring I am wearing enough clothes under my wool coat is essential to staying somewhat warm. ‘Somewhat warm’ being the key word in that phrase. This week is going to bring some slight relief with temps in the 40’s and 50’s….break out the swimsuits and sandals. I love a good heat wave.
