What to Wear To a Spring WeddingSpring wedding season is in full swing and it can be hard to decide what to wear as a wedding guest. Should you choose something short, long, printed, solid, bright colors or neutral? There are so many options out there to choose from so I thought I would share some of my personal looks that would work for a spring wedding as well as other options that would suit a variety of venues and dress codes.

I like to err on the side of being a tad too fancy rather than not fancy enough when it comes to weddings. It’s one of the only times you can really get glam so take advantage of it and enjoy wearing something a bit more dressy. I like my dress to be the star of the look and often choose neutral and simple accessories to wear with my wedding guest dress. Here is a roundup of spring wedding guest dresses at all price points.

What To Wear To a Spring Wedding

Silky Pants Suit | What to Wear To a Spring Wedding

Silky Pants Suit

Ok so the first outfit option is actually a blouse and pants set but I love the entire look for a spring wedding. The silkier fabric and drapey fit make it suitable for a fancier dress code but something less than black tie or cocktail attire. And not everyone wants to wear a dress so this is a great set that is comfortable yet still chic and appropriate.

Sleeveless Sheath Dress

The cut of this dress is absolutely gorgeous and the color is perfect for spring. The neckline is a bit unique as there is a slight cutaway on one shoulder which is very flattering. I love the midi length of this dress and definitely think it would be a great choice for a cocktail attire dress code as well as something a bit more casual. And I could even see this worn to a beach wedding because of the light green color and mermaid style fit of the bottom portion. I like it worn without a belt but you could also add a delicate metallic or beaded belt to add some texture and color.

Floral Maxi Dress | What to Wear To a Spring Wedding

Floral Maxi Dress (similar)

This is the perfect dress to wear to almost any spring function (graduation, mother’s day, baby shower, wedding, etc). I would opt for a look like this for a garden wedding or something outside. It’s flowy and delicate which is great in the heat though you could always drape a wrap over your shoulders in the evening. It’s not dressy enough for black tie or even cocktail attire, so I would choose this for a slightly more casual wedding or an outdoor wedding.

Midi Floral Print Dress

Midi Floral Print Dress

I actually call this my “wedding guest dress” simply because for me it checks all the boxes of any wedding I could go to. The length makes it suitable for something requiring cocktail attire or for an outdoor garden venue. The embroidering on the dress is so much more beautiful in person and really elevates the entire look. Since it’s not a true pastel or even rich jewel tones, it’s a timeless floral print and colorway that would work year round for nearly any season.

Embroidered Mini Dress

I know not everyone loves a midi or maxi length dress for a wedding guest dress, so I added a mini dress option that would be perfect for a spring wedding. Though it’s a shorter length, the cap sleeve balances out the proportion and adds a bit of modesty. The vibrant florals are stunning and allow you to accessorize with neutrals or fun colors.

One Shoulder Midi Dress

Out of all the dresses I shared in this post, this is the one that I often recommend on a regular basis to friends and blog readers. It comes in a TON of colors but I chose this slate blue which is really suitable for spring. The ruching and asymmetrical cut is so flattering yet still helps to minimize any areas around the mid section that you may want to distract from. This is a dress you will have for years to come and will always look timeless.

Slip Dress

Nothing is more classic or iconic for a wedding than a simple slip dress. It’s chic, elegant, polished and timeless. The subtle floral print makes it perfect for a spring wedding and depending on accessories can be dressed up or down. A simple slip dress is great for an outdoor garden wedding while also being appropriate for a semi formal wedding.

Lace Midi Dress

Between the bright color, high slit and sheer details, this is the an eye catching and vibrant dress option. Especially if you are something that prefers to wear bold colors and vibrant patterns, this dress will truly make a statement. With something like this, I would keep the accessories to a minimum and in neutral tones so as not to compete with the dress.

One Shoulder Tie Waist Dress

This dress has actually been on my wishlist for so long but I have not yet had somewhere to wear it so it’s sitting in my favorites folder still. LOL I am obsessed with the one shoulder long sleeve style which is so unique and then the high cut slit makes it so daring and sexy. The shimmery fabric and floral print are so eye catching and really make this a great option for spring weddings.

Strapless Midi Dress

A similar style to the one shoulder ruched dress I featured, but with a strapless neckline. I love the fitted corset style top that creates a beautiful silhouette. I definitely would consider this for a cocktail attire or black tie wedding especially if you add dramatic earrings and shoes.

Black V-Neck Gown

I know we are discussing spring weddings, but a black floor length gown is suitable for any season and especially if you are attending a black tie wedding or a formal spring wedding. This dress will really make a statement and gives the aura of old Hollywood glamour. The dramatic neckline and mermaid style hem create a flattering silhouette. For a dress like this, I would go bold with the accessories and makeup.

Ruched Strapless Bodycon Dress

I clearly love ruching detail on a dress and will always recommend it. It tends to be very flattering on the body, minimizes areas that you don’t want attention brought to and is always in style. This is a more body con dress which I prefer for an evening wedding or something more fancy.

Long Sleeve Floral Midi Dress

I included this dress in the roundup because I know not everyone wants something sleeveless or strapless. This is a gorgeous dress with a more modest fit yet still so chic and elegant. The delicate floral print is perfect for spring and summer and the flowy fit makes it a great option for an outdoor or garden wedding.

One Shoulder Sleeveless Midi Dress

Another option for someone that really wants a statement dress. From the bold vibrant color, to the shiny fabric and high slit, this dress IS the outfit. Accessories should be kept to a minimum in neutral or metallic tones to let the dress be the star of the show. I would choose this for a cocktail attire wedding or even a black tie event.
