Ponchos and capes can be a bit intimidating and confusing to wear because they don’t always have a ton of shape to them. However, they are one of my favorite styles to wear in the fall and winter. I like to keep things simple when styling it and start with a monochromatic look underneath the poncho. Another tip I have is to keep the clothes underneath very fitted. Since ponchos and capes are often very billowy and flowy, it helps to balance that out by wearing more form fitting things with it. Size down if you can because while they are normally supposed to fit oversized, you don’t want to be swimming in the poncho. Just keep things simple with it – that’s the biggest tip. Ponchos and capes are statement pieces so you want to allow them to be the star of the outfit.
