ColourPop Jelly Much Eyeshadows ReviewThis is my first time trying anything from ColourPop but these new Jelly Much eyeshadows were popping up all over my TikTok so I had to try a few! I’ve seen a ton of great reviews about ColourPop products over the years but the brand did feel a bit kitschy to me so I wasn’t sure I would like anything. That being said, after trying these Jelly Much eyeshadows, I plan to order a few more things to try.

I have a TON of solo eyeshadows both in cream formulation and powder formulation and love a “one and done” eyeshadow look. But this “jelly” texture was completely new to me and sucked me right in. The swatches alone made me gasp LOL and I loved that so many of the shades have an iridescent finish to them so it picks up a few different colors in the light. I ordered 3 shades to try but honestly I could have ordered more because almost all of the shades looked so wearable.

ColourPop Jelly Much Eyeshadows Review

ColourPop Jelly Much Eyeshadows ReviewEven though I like my makeup to be more classic and subtle for everyday, I am still drawn to shimmer finishes especially for the eyes. These ColourPop Jelly Much eyeshadows are designed to deliver high impact shine with one swipe. They definitely sparkle intensely so you have to be comfortable with wearing that especially if you want to wear them for daytime, but the bold shine is perfect for evening. There are a ton of great pale colors so I actually love wearing them as my everyday makeup look.

Texture

While the name suggests they would feel like jelly, they are more like a whipped mousse. They have a slight cooling feeling to the touch and initially feel wet but dry down to a powder.

Pigment

They feel sheer when first applied and if you blend them out too much, they will sheer out to next to nothing. So the key is patting them on with very little blending. However, they can be built up to give a more intense color payoff.

Longevity

I didn’t anticipate these lasting super long but was pleasantly surprised when they made it through an 8 hour day with minimal movement. There was slight creasing especially if I added a few layers to achieve a more bold look, but I would just tap it out with my finger and all was fine.

Price Point

These are insanely affordable at $9 a piece.

How They Look on the Lid

Because of the intense shimmer, these will definitely show texture on the lids and could emphasis crepiness. That being said, using a small amount just on the center of the lid over top of your regular eyeshadow is a great way to enjoy them without needing to apply all over the lid.

ColourPop Jelly Much Shadow Swatches

ColourPop Jelly Much Eyeshadow swatchesThese swatches were done in direct sunlight and literally look STUNNING!!! There is so much dimension to each shade and they look different depending on how the light catches it. I love all 3 equally and cannot pick a favorite. Sage Bundle is the most unique out of all three and really pops on the eyes. The camera doesn’t even do it justice because in person the shimmer really stands out and my lids look almost twinkly. Buzzy is the most gorgeous golden warm peach and I cannot wait to wear it in the summer. Field of Fairies is a universal champagne gold shade that would look good on a ton of different skin tones. Here is a list of all the shades available and a bit about each.

How to Use the ColourPop Jelly Much Shadows?

Tap Don’t Swipe

In order to build the color up, I find that tapping it on rather than swiping was the best method.

Use a Brush

I tried using my finger but it moved the product around too much so I prefer to apply the shadows with a brush.

Use Alone or Layered

I love these worn alone because they really twinkle on the eyes but they would also be great used as a topper on top of another eyeshadow.

Use a Primer

I use an eyeshadow primer with every single makeup look I ever do but especially with these it’s a must!

Apply All Over or Just In the Center

These shadows look great as the entire eye look or simply press them on top of another color just in the center of the lid to make the eyes pop.

Use On the Eyes Only

I read that these can be used on the cheeks too but honestly, I think they are best worn on the eyes. The chunkiness of them makes me think they would not work as well on the cheeks.
