There is something so chic about a cape or poncho styled with a fall outfit. This year some brands are adding cape details to trench coats and barn jackets which is so unique! A classic cape or poncho is always timeless but adding a cape detail onto a regular piece of outerwear is really a new way to experiment with this trend. The color is what first got me with this cape but I absolutely love the leather tie-waist detail. It allows you to create a bit of structure and shape to the cape.

If you need a raincoat for work, this may actually be the most gorgeous one I’ve found. It’s a statement piece but still in a neutral color which works with any outfit.

A true cape that really gives that perfect a-line shape. The color is beautiful for fall while the buckle detail at the neck makes it look more luxe.
Me+Em Brown Curve Seam Cape
This cape fits like a traditional pea coat with sleeves and a collar. The only difference between this and a pea coat is the flare out shape at the bottom.
J.Crew Wool-Cashmere Blend Turtleneck Poncho
If you want a poncho that you can wear as your outfit rather than an outerwear piece, I love this option. I would still layer a turtleneck or crewneck tee underneath but just imagine how comfy this would be to wear all day!

This is VERY trendy but there is something about it that I love. I think it is the mix of the harshness of a utility jacket with a feminine cape flair.

If you prefer a basic cape with no added details or accessories, this is the perfect choice. It’s minimalist look actually makes it look very luxe and chic.
Tuckernuck Olive Fletcher Wax Poncho
Many ponchos in this list are a bit dressier so I wanted to include a very casual option. I love this as an alternative to a more masculine style wax barn coat that is so popular right now. This would look great with jeans and rain boots for a weekend outing.

Let me just imagine and dream with this one, ok?!?!!!! The price tag will give you major sticker shock but I literally gasped when I saw this. A true work of art!!
Avec Les Filles Faux Suede Cape Coat
Besides a traditional waist length cape coat, I’ve seen a ton of version of longer coats with a cape flair around the shoulders. I personally love this and find it so unique. For those who have a more expressive sense of style, I think this coat is a must have!
