A Plaid Boyfriend Blazer + Tips On Shopping For Clothes Online

Blazer - Trouve (runs big, size down) | Camisole - BP | Jeans - Topshop | Shoes - Manolo Blahnik | Bag - Gucci | Sunglasses - old but similar here

Is there anything more fall than a crisp plaid blazer?! Give me some warm apple cider, school supplies and an afternoon of driving through all the fall foliage and I am a happy gal (while wearing my new plaid blazer, of course). This blazer was an example of how trying something on and styling it can completely change your mind about an item. I saw this online at Nordstrom and wasn't convinced it would be flattering on me, but once it arrived and I was able to try it on and style it with a few items in my closet - I loved it! I've been shopping online for yearsssss (even when I used to live in NYC, the shopping capital of the world!) because I like to try things on in the privacy of my own home and then see what items I already own that could be worn with the things I have ordered. This truly makes all the difference for me. Because though it may look great in the store, if I have nothing in my closet at home that it would work with, there really is no point in buying it. Many of you ask how I figure out the sizing when I am ordering online and the reality is I buy the two sizes I am considering and send back what doesn't fit. Frankly, that is why I have been shopping at Nordstrom for so many years because their free returns make it ridiculously easy.

Though I left the blazer open in this post, I also love it belted either with jeans or a pencil skirt as another styling option. Obviously blazers are seen as a more business oriented outfit option but even if you don't work in a traditional office setting, they are a great piece to wear in a casual way. OR for a night out with leather leggings and heels. Don't think of a blazer (specifically plaid ones in this case) as a conservative piece that requires a desk job in order to wear and enjoy! For more plaid blazer options, I linked a handful of them divided up by price in the widgets below. Nordstrom has a ton of them and adding more each day that I check! Scroll through to see them all.
