I can't take full credit for this look - I saw this outfit on Pinterest and immediately wanted to recreate it. Her sweater is a bit more voluminous, but I loved the chunky sweater/skinny jeans/oxfords look with head to toe black. I get so many of my outfit ideas from Pinterest - it's still such a wealth of inspiration!
I had to add a beanie with this look because winter has arrived. Brrr! They are such a fun accessory to make an outfit more casual, but also keep my head warm. Which I guess is the point, right?! I was never a hat person years ago, but I always admired girls who wore them regularly. I felt they would look silly on me, but was determined to find a way to make it work for me. I finally bought one just to get myself used to wearing it and styling it. Once I did I fell in love with them and now buy multiple hats and styles every year. That's typically the way I get myself comfortable with a trend that I am longing to try. I bite the bullet and buy something from a style I'm longing to wear and then find ways to make it work for me. And I still look to Pinterest for help many times. When I'm unsure how to put something together, I will do a quick search and look for outfits that showcase a particular item I want to wear. And then I try and remember that fashion should be fun so I allow myself the permission to experiment now and again. I'm glad for that - because now my head reaps the benefits in the winter. Ha!
