Last summer it was teal, this year my shade of the season is blue. Pastel blue, royal blue, robin’s egg blue -I think they all look great! I’ve begun to amass quite a collection and figured I would share with you some of my favorites. A few of these are discontinued but I have added similar shades and then also suggested a handful of other blue nail polish colors to try. Summer is a great time to wear bright shades in your clothing, makeup and nails. They definitely make a statement on the nails so if you decide to try but want to keep it more wearable, choose it for your pedicure shade! Or even try blue french tips as a way to casually work it into your manicure. Leave the base of the nail neutral and just add a thin blue strip at the edge. That would be so chic! There are actually a ton of great inspo pics of french manicures with colorful tips on Pinterest so be sure to check there as well. Here is a look at swatches of all my picks:

Blue Nails For Summer

1. Laura Mercier Attitude (similar color here – see manicure here)

2. Dior Porcelaine (similar shade here)

3. Essie Bikini So Teeny

4. Julep Amy (similar shade here)

5. Jin Soon Poppy Blue (similar shade here)

6. Essie Butler Please

If I had to choose a favorite, Essie Butler Please is a classic and one of my favorite blue nail colors of all time. It has been around forever and never fails to look absolutely stunning on the nails. On my pale skin, the shades of blue that tend to look the best on my skin tone are those that are more of a royal blue or deep blue. If you are into nail art, there are so many blue nail designs on pinterest and blue manicures to give tons of inspiration.
Since most of the colors I shared in this post are old or discontinued, here are a few that are more current and worth trying:
